Blog: German for the exam — writing and speaking

Exam structure, typical mistakes and ready-made phrases — short and to the point. New articles explain how the written and oral parts are scored.

Each article covers one step: what is required, how it is scored, and where points are usually lost.

The articles follow the parts of the exam: listening, reading, writing, speaking. Each one names the task first, then the marking criteria, and finally the mistakes that cost the most points.

Frequent questions

Are these official tasks?

No. All texts, tasks and audio are written by us. We follow the official structure — sections, number of tasks, time, points — but the content is ours.

Do I get a certificate?

No. Only an official exam centre can issue a certificate. Here you practise and see where you stand.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, everything runs in the browser on phone and computer, no app needed.
